Fair warning – there’s an agenda behind this website. Here it is: to foster a dialogue about local issues from a pragmatic, socially conscious perspective. In other words, a perspective recognizing it’s possible for our communities to grow while protecting our neighborhoods, believing that good government should be progressive and financially prudent, and wanting both a strong tax base and a high level of city and county services. It’s a perspective focused on the long view of developing thriving communities.
This space is unique. It will be a hub for information, ideas, critiques, and news. It will be a space to share thoughts with the goal that the exchange will lead to tangible ways to improve our communities.
This is a space for debate. As long as there is a local nexus, politics, public policy, and culture are all fair game. While our contributors might share a common perspective, they will not always agree. And that’s fine.
This space is serious. And funny, snarky, and irreverent. We see no reason why healthy debate can’t be entertaining – at least to a PG13 level.
Content will vary. Expect to see in depth policy discussions, quick posts regarding current events, opinion pieces, fact checks, videos, and more.
Our contributors are uncredentialed – just folks with day jobs and an interest in approaching local issues from a thoughtful and socially aware perspective. Either way, we hope you continue to visit the site.
